Sony's annual Days of Play promotion kicked off on May 27 and runs through June 10, 2026. This year's edition stacks more free content, playable trials, and tournament prizes than past years — and it lands alongside the June PS Plus Monthly Games announcement. Here's what to grab, try, and compete in before the window closes.
June PS Plus Monthly Games
The June Monthly Games unlock on Tuesday, June 2 and remain claimable until Monday, July 6, 2026. All PS Plus tiers at Essential and above can add them to their library during that window.
Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition (PS5, PS4) drops you into a shrunken backyard survival world where building, crafting, and co-op exploration carry the experience. The Fully Yoked Edition includes all content released since the game's original launch. Best for: players who enjoy co-op sandbox survival with friends. Trade-off: the loop rewards patience more than instant action.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide brings the grimdark sci-fi universe to PlayStation in the form of a four-player co-op shooter set in a hive city infested with chaos cultists. Best for: fans of chaotic, build-driven co-op with strong moment-to-moment combat. Trade-off: the progression system demands repeated runs before builds really click.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 rounds out the trio as the platform fighter that significantly improved on its predecessor with proper voice acting and refined movesets. Best for: families and anyone who wants a casual brawler session. Trade-off: lacks the roster depth of established platform fighters.
EA Sports FC 26, which joined PS Plus as a May Monthly Game, stays claimable as a Monthly Game through June 16, 2026 — a bonus two-week extension. If you haven't claimed it yet, our EA Sports FC 26 guide covers what to expect on PS5.
40+ Indie Game Trials
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can trial more than 40 acclaimed indie games from May 27 through June 10 at no additional cost. Sony named Baby Steps, Lumines Arise, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 among the titles available. Trials let you play the full game for a limited time, and any progress carries over if you decide to purchase. This window is the fastest way to discover whether a smaller title fits your taste before committing. Check the PlayStation Plus section of the store to browse the complete trial lineup.
Destiny 2 Joins the Catalog
On June 9, Extra and Premium/Deluxe members gain access to Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (2025), which includes The Final Shape expansion. For PS5 players who haven't touched Destiny 2 in years — or ever — this drops a substantial amount of content directly into the subscription. The Final Shape concluded the Light and Darkness saga and earned strong critical reception. Best for: players who can commit to a live-service RPG shooter with a genuine endgame. It's a strong alternative to Darktide if you prefer sci-fi over grimdark fantasy.
Tournaments: Compete for Real Prizes
PlayStation Tournaments runs a dedicated Days of Play bracket across Gran Turismo 7, Astro Bot, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Fortnite, and several sports titles. Enter any tournament during the event period and you automatically receive a unique Days of Play PS Avatar. Every entry also qualifies for a sweepstakes that includes a PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge controller, PS Plus Premium subscription, and PlayStation Store credit among the prizes. Gran Turismo 7 participants can also earn an exclusive in-game livery. Visit the Community page for links to the official PlayStation Tournaments portal.
Free Indie Avatars for Everyone
Starting June 4, all PlayStation players — not just PS Plus members — can claim a free voucher code for PlayStation Indies avatar items. Retrieve the code through the PlayStation Plus web page or the Days of Play section on your console. There's no purchase required and no subscription needed, making this the one Days of Play perk that extends to every PSN account holder.
What to do right now
For most people, the clearest wins this week are claiming the June Monthly Games the moment they unlock on June 2, browsing the indie trial list to identify two or three titles worth a few hours of your time, and entering at least one tournament to lock in the free avatar and sweepstakes entry. If you play Gran Turismo 7 at all, the tournament-exclusive livery reward alone justifies entering. Darktide stands out as the June headliner for co-op players because the game demands a squad, and Days of Play is exactly the moment when your friends list is most likely to claim it simultaneously. Grounded is a strong alternative if you prefer a slower, more exploratory pace. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is better suited for households with younger players or anyone who simply wants a low-stakes brawler to fill gaps between longer sessions.
